My husband and I are highschool sweethearts and he proposed to me on our 10th anniversary in Spring 2017 and we got married a year later. I would just like to say our wedding was like a fairy tale. Even though it landed on the ice-storm day in April! (Who would have thought right?). I always wanted a spring wedding but the best part is my husband always wanted a winter wedding so we kind of got best of both worlds! It was sort of a blessing in disguise. Definitely one for the books! Our day could not have gone more perfectly either.
We had to end up cancelling our photo shoot appointment at Old Mill Toronto due to severe ice conditions and freezing cold temperatures. Hazelton Manor was gracious enough to have us arrive two and a half hours earlier for our photo shoot in the lobby area and I’m so glad we had it there instead! The lobby is absolutely stunning and our pictures turned out amazing.
In addition, when it comes to my dress I knew I wanted a satin mermaid style dress with a V-neckline and a statement illusioned open back with some lace. My mother is actually the one who pulled it off the rack. It was the first store I went to and the first dress I tried on. It also fit me like a glove. It was meant to be and it was a very sweet moment for us. I also wanted a very long dramatic lace cathedral veil which was absolutely stunning.
When it comes to my wedding theme I knew I wanted soft pastel colours with pops of purple and a hint of rustic elements with gold tones. I had an idea in mind and when we found Sarah from Precious Flowers, she brought my vision to life. My favourite element was our elevated head table with a braided back-drop design (my husband’s vision). As for our two family tables, I wanted them to stand out more than the guest tables. We had very high elevated centerpieces for them with floating candles and flowers with a lot of greenery to make it look garden-esque. It was perfect!
Thank you to the whole Hazelton Manor Team for such a perfect day!! We are forever grateful for your promptness, organization and dedication. Especially in a crazy ice storm!
